The purpose of the Denton County Livestock Association and the Denton County Youth Livestock Show and Rodeo is to provide an opportunity for FFA, FCCLA, and 4-H members to exhibit their projects in a friendly, fair competition, and to educate the public about agriculture and related areas. Also to promote breeding, improvement, and sale purebred and commercial livestock. The fair gives youth the opportunity to learn responsibility and obtain information from others as well. The Denton County Livestock Association was founded in 1949.

 

  PREAMBLE

The Denton County Youth Fair is organized for educational, charitable and scientific purposes.  The Denton County Livestock Association (DCLA) uses the Fair to encourage and promote the educational aspects of projects conducted by Denton County Youth under the proper supervision and direction of a county extension agent, an agricultural science teacher, a home economics teacher or an adult 4-H leader.

 

FFA, FCCLA, and 4-H members entering the show agree to observe all rules of fair competition reject the uses of drug or physical alteration of the livestock or other exhibits, and to refrain from any action that would give an unfair advantage over any other exhibitor.
