Rodeo

The Denton County Youth Fair 19 & Under Rodeo will be held in conjunction with the youth fair on 2 (two) days this year! Friday, April 3rd & Saturday, April 4th, 2026, at 6 pm at the Denton County Fairgrounds located at 2217 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, Texas.

Entries may be completed online, dropped off, or mailed as follows:

OPTION #1: ONLINE ENTRIES

Complete online entry form, pay with card with 3% fee.

OPTION #2: DROP-OFF ENTRIES

Please drop off your completed entry form, copy of proof of age, and cash payment attached with staple or all in an envelope to the North Texas Fair Office at 2217 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, Texas. The office is open Monday – Friday from 9 to 4. There is a door mail slot available after hours. The office is located on the right by the flagpole.

OPTION #3: MAIL IN ENTRIES

Please mail in your completed entry form, copy of proof of age (NO CASH OR CHECKS) with a money order payable to:

  • NO Walk-up Entries
  • Parent MUST complete & SIGN form
  • Proof of age MUST be submitted with the entry form – age as of January 1st
  • Open to contestants 19 & Under
  • DO NOT have to live in Denton County
  • Contestants may enter up in age group, if they wish
  • Contestants may only enter each event 1 (one) time per age division
  • Mutton Bustin Entries– (limit 20 per night)

– limited to age 7 & Under

– 55 lbs. weight limit regardless of age

– protective gear (helmets & vests) will be provided for use

– ropes will NOT be allowed

– contestants may only enter 1 time

– Champion to receive custom-made Chaps by Dylan Randall Leather Designs

  • Team Roping Entries– girls & boys may enter 2 times heading & 2 times heeling with different partners – please choose 15 & Under or 19 & Under
  • Rough Stock Entries–

Contestants are required to wear & provide their own protective gear (helmet & vest)

  • Buckles will be awarded in each event
  • One All-around saddles will be awarded in the three (3) age divisions
  • Tickets can be purchased from your local queen or princess candidate – $5 each

Children 10 & under are free – tickets will also be sold at the gate

2026 Information

Queen and Princess nominations are due by 5 pm on Thursday, February 15th. Candidates must contact their FFA or 4H advisor if interested in running.

Queen contestants must be 14 years of age and older as of August 31, 2025. Princess contestants must be 13 years of age and younger as of August 31, 2025. There will be a Queen and Princess meeting held at Fair Hall date and time to be determined. At that point contestants will receive their tickets and sashes. Contestants can begin selling advanced Rodeo tickets after this meeting.
